Erwin Wambi is an international graduate student from Uganda, an asylum seeker and a higher education professional currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Higher Education. His work centers on student engagement, leadership development, and creating inclusive campus communities. His experiences navigating higher education in the United States as both an international student and asylum seeker have shaped his commitment to helping students feel connected, supported and empowered.

Through his work in student affairs, Erwin has supported student programming, fraternity and sorority life, campus traditions, and leadership initiatives. His professional experiences have allowed him to coordinate large-scale events, mentor student leaders, collaborate across departments and develop programs that strengthen students’ sense of belonging and connection to their institutions.

Erwin is especially interested in the intersection of technology, social justice, and student success. He is passionate about exploring creative ways technology can make resources more accessible, strengthen community engagement and better support students from diverse and historically underserved backgrounds. Through his graduate studies and professional work, Erwin hopes to continue creating more equitable, welcoming and transformative environments for students.
