Emily Satifka Esq. (she/her)
Secretary
Emily loves being a Philadelphian, an immigrant rights litigator, and queer, and she's excited to join the APH board at the intersection of all three. As Counsel at Justice Action Center (JAC), she works to build a future based on humanity over exclusion, using impact litigation and narrative storytelling to challenge systems that harm immigrants. She currently served as Asylum Pride House’s Secretary.
Emily’s connection to LGBTQ+ asylum seekers began in law school where she volunteered regularly at the border in Tijuana, consulting with trans asylum seekers on their rights. She lives in Philadelphia with her partner, dog, and cat.
